This morning we led the kids in morning meditation to work on relaxing and using our listening skills. After we went to arts and sports with Marie where the kids took turns playing Gaga ball and making pots in pottery. The kids made pots at pottery. In the afternoon the kids went to arts and crafts where they each made a candle with their color of choice! The special day today was Fiesta day! We kicked off our partying with the piñata, and when we all collected our candy we had a dance party with salsa music! To wrap it up the kids enjoyed chips and salsa under the tent. Today there were little rain showers but Birch Hill made the most of it. Singing, dancing, and swimming in the rain was a big hit and we had a lot of fun doing it! Tomorrow is favorite sports teams day! Wear your favorite jerseys:) Grace and Kaydence did handstands underwater WITHOUT goggles on! They have been trying these new tricks for awhile so it was nice to see their hard work pay off. When the candy came out of the piñata all the kids made sure that everyone got a piece rather than taking it all for themselves. They were so sweet! The counselors could not believe that none of our campers knew how to dance to the cotton-eyed-joe! We had a few dance lessons, but the kids were happy making up their own interpretive dances.
