After School Care

We are excited to launch our new program for after school care! See below for details.

Our Mission

Looking for afterschool care in the Metrowest area? You’re in luck! Adventures at PDC is offering after school care from 3:30-6:00. At PDC we believe that just because summer is over, doesn’t mean the fun needs to end. At our after school program, children discover nature through hands-on exploration, active movement, outdoor play, crafts, and more. Interact and play with kids of various ages and from various towns. Plus we will assist kids with homework assignments and provide a snack as well!

A recent study has shown: “Outdoor education and play support emotional, behavioral and intellectual development. Studies have shown that students who learn outdoors develop: a sense of self, independence, confidence, creativity, decision-making and problem-solving skills, empathy towards others, motor skills, self-discipline and initiative.”*

At our After School Care kids will be able to learn and play outside. Work with one another and learn all while having fun.

How is this possible?

Although we won’t have our glorious pool, we will have a lot of the things camp provides throughout the summer. Our Summer Office will be transformed into our Adventures, Education Center and it will be the main location for our after school care. Pick-up and Drop-off will be here as well. We will spend the entire time outside or at least as much as we can. When it’s too cold to do homework outside, we have our education center to complete our work indoors. We will do hikes, gaga, athletics, and tractor rides in the fall plus so much more.

Keep visiting this page because we will be updating it with themes and a list of scheduled activities for our after school care.

Have you done this Before?

Although we have not provided an after school before, we have done vacation camps in the winter. Our After School care consists of the same ideology and the same staff! The only difference is that we would be here every day on a consistent level and our main building would change to the Education Center. See what parents had to say about our winter programming below!

What should my child bring?

Clothing for the outdoors and fall/winter elements. You can even have your own cubby here and keep your outdoor clothes stored here to make it easy!

Your school work/homework if you have any. We can give you time to complete your work or assist with any upcoming project.

Will food be provided?
Peanut free snacks will be provided daily
Where is pick up and drop – off?

All pickup and dropoff will be at our new Adventures Education center  (aka our main summer office).

Will staff be the same from the summer?
Some of your favorite staff members will be there!
My child never attended PDC in the summer, are they still allowed to come?
Of course! All new campers are welcome!
Are there special days at winter camp?

Yes! Each week we will have a special theme that correlates to our curriculum and programming. No dress up days etc…unless the kids want one 🙂

Please send in more questions and we will be adding them here!

December Break -Photo album

Here is a photo album of our December vacation camp. It gives you an idea of how we can actually have camp all year long 🙂

February Break

We couldn’t have asked for better weather during February Vacation. We had tons of snow so we went sledding EVERY DAY. We also built snowmen and snow angels. Inside we tried to keep it tropical with fun games, music, and fiestas. The theme for the week was STAY-CATION and it was SO much fun!
