Environmental Education Programs

Who We Are

Our environmental education field trip options enhance, supplement, and build upon classroom learning. The outdoor education programs provide the hands-on interactive learning by bringing students outside and swapping trails for halls. Our 150-acre outdoor classroom is conveniently located right off of route 9 in Framingham Massachusetts!

Swap your hallways for hiking trails!

Program Objectives

We focus on hands-on experiential learning. Learning in and from the natural environment allows students to engage in meaningful learning that goes beyond lessons gained in a typical classroom. Activities cover a variety of topics in the subject areas of social and physical science, math, art, and physical education.

Curriculum Design

Our staff is comprised of highly trained teachers in curriculum development. We use the common core standards as our guide to help you develop the topic you would like to teach. Contact us and we can come up with an outdoor experience your students will never forget!

“I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” Confucious

We will work with you to create whatever you need! Our staff is trained in UBD curriculum design.

When

Adventures at PDC’s Educational Program is offered through the traditional school year, though schools generally choose to attend during the fall and spring since most of our classes are held outdoors. We do have an indoor facility for inclement weather. Attending in the fall helps to set a positive tone for the school year, build the classroom community, and improve interpersonal skills. Spring participation can reinforce lessons already learned, improve and cement relationships, and celebrate the end of a successful school year.
